REVIEWS:

“Great bird guide”
“I highly recommend this tour because of Raul’s knowledge and experience. I came as a beginner and he quickly gave me skills to locate and observe birds. My highlight was a side trip to see Panama’s smallest, “Scintillant Hummingbird.”

Raul has an interesting background and he is great at conversation. He was part of an eco-tourism delegation to China and designed a deck to protect a wildflower habitat from large assemblies of tourists seeking photos. The project received funding, was implemented and Raul is acknowledged. Very cool.

He’s now building a hummingbird observation on his property and I’m looking forward to visiting”

“Birding”
“Raul joined us for a focused birding day on Baru Volcano in February 2022. He showed a lot of energy, knowledge, courtesy and enthusiasm during the day. I would strongly recommedn him for focused birding in this area.”

“A great morning birding with a great guide.”
“Raul, our guide, was very knowledgeable and conversant. He was very helpful finding birds and was quickly identified them. We thought the Respendent Quetzal was a terrific find, as were barbots, 5 hummingbird species, and many others. But the most outstanding were the Solitary Eagles preparing a nest site!”.

The Panama Bird Watch Workshop

If you are even just a little bit interested in the beauty and uniqueness of birds, if you are a true Bird Watching aficionado, or anything in between, this is the perfect tour for you. Your guide, Raul, is one of the best and most appreciated Bird Watch guides on the planet! You will see lots of unique birds, and you will learn more about bird watching and locating than you knew when you arrived for your tour.

ALL WORKSHOPS ARE PRIVATE! Your guide has discovered that the quality of the time is vastly improved if restricted to only one group at a time. On this workshop it will be just yourself or your group; no one else. At over 7 hours, the Panama Bird Watch Workshop is a reasonable length Specialized Guided Birding Tour in the surrounding areas of the National Park Baru Volcano. You have an exceptionally knowledgable guide who comes very well equipped with binoculars and scopes.

Once you have started your workshop, the itinerary becomes very fluid. Keeping in consideration what we learn from your completed questionnaire (see below), and the conditions in the field at the time of your workshop, your guide will take you to the very best stops that meet all these conditions and criteria. If you like photography, bring your camera! We are thrilled to accommodate this interest.

In Boquete, we have a meeting location where you can park safely and we provide all transportation for our activities in your Panama Bird Watch Workshop, or if you are staying in the Bajo Boquete (downtown) area, or at Hotel La Serrania, we can pick you up at your lodgings.

The Panama Bird Watch Workshop starts with you being picked up either at your lodgings or at the Hotel
La Serrania in northern Boquete (the Los Naranjos area). Departure time from our office is at 8:00 AM. Pick-Up times will be a bit earlier if we are getting you from your Boquete lodgings.

Once you have reserved your Panama Bird Watch Workshop, you will receive an email which includes three very important steps to complete your Panama Bird Watch Workshop booking. One is a link where to retrieve your Panama Bird Watch Workshop Information Booklet, which contains all the necessary meeting place information and a whole lot more.

Please keep in mind that the Boquete area is very tropical in nature, being so close to the Caribbean Sea, the Pacific Ocean, and the Equator. We get a lot of rain. For 10 months of the year we get rain virtually every day, over 100 inches a year. We set your tour hours to avoid what we can of it, but there is a chance it will rain during your Panama Bird Watch Workshop. Please just consider this when you are packing and then choosing what to wear or bring on your tour.
